UVA Library spaces are open to the public, and we welcome visitors of all kinds!
Self-guided Library tours
Visitors are welcome in Library spaces at any time during hours of operation. The Library offers a few resources to help you along the way:
- Choosing where to visit? See all hours and locations, and maps of where each is located. The UVA Library has 6 locations on central Grounds.
- Interactive maps show what’s inside various locations, including study spaces and major features. Or, you can see a video tour of Shannon Library on YouTube.
- Have a question? Try Ask a Librarian web chat, or stop by the Service & Information Desks (available in all locations) when you visit.
Request a tour guide
Visitors can request guided tours ahead of time, if you’d like to have a tour guide during your visit. Tours are conducted by Library staff. Note that some tours are limited to certain days and times. Learn more and request a guided tour.
