Popular with students for abundant study space, late hours, and media-related services, Clemons is one of the busiest libraries on Grounds. Our large DVD selection and collection related to philosophy, history, and more, provide everything a scholar needs. Clemons is also home to Gallery 4, a student-centered outreach space featuring student-created art, multimedia work, and interactive, rotating displays.

Shannon Library, along with Clemons Library, holds UVA’s social sciences and humanities collection. Shannon also holds the Flowerdew Hundred archaeological and records collection; Government Documents (the UVA Library is a U.S. federal regional depository); the Library’s renowned Tibetan Collection; the Stanley and Lucie Weinstein Buddhist and Asian Studies Library; and the collections shelved in the Reference, Periodicals, & Oversize Room.
